Big Valley Molds began in 1983. It was founded by Tom Purdom, a mold-maker by trade. The name change came about in 2003 to reflect the growth in the injection molding portion of the business.
The company was purchased by Plastaket Mfg. Co., Inc. and moved to their location in Lodi California in January 2007 DBA Big Valley Molds.
Injection molding was brought into the operation in 1989 with the viewpoint that the injection mold and the processing of the plastic parts are a marriage of the two. When the mold-maker and the molder are one and the same, with mutual knowledge of both aspects, the result is a mold that will produce high quality, trouble free parts repetitively and in the best possible cycle times, as well as providing in-house mold maintenance.
We are available for consultation in the part design stage to aid in developing a part that is mold process friendly, as well as recommending types of molds and thermoplastic resins for your projects.
We are a small operation with big capabilities. Our facilities include our complete mold-making shop with CNC machining and EDM, 6 press molding department ranging from 35 tom-1 ounce to 500 ton-60 ounce capacity. Our personnel are experiences, motivated and quality oriented.
